Slow March Across the Sky

I try to wrap
the sweep of you -

sweet morning
whisps of white -

with words
but give up for
your almost imperceptible
march across the
sky is not

something I want
to miss and as
my words fail I am
thankfully reminded of
the freedom that

comes from
moving slower

than ever
imagined possible.

  1. Katie this poem captures the peace and quiet feeling of early morning. Makes me want to slow down and be still with it. I like the turn of phrase wisps of white too.

  2. Ruth and Kay would love your poems, Katie. They express an openness and a reverence for life, its ups and downs, its daily routines and responsibilities, its eternal truths.
